If combined with a decreased estrogen levels a woman may totally have no interest in sex at all. Some women may not have this condition at all and may even enjoy satisfying sexual intercourse even after menopause is over.

•   Pregnancy – a pregnant woman may feel lack of sexual desire on the initial trimester of pregnancy. This is due to hormonal changes plus the easy feeling of fatigue and heaviness which can also contribute to a woman’s low libido. The fact that a woman may perceive intercourse as a way to hurt her baby can also add to a decreased sexual desire. Breastfeeding may also cause low libido and this is also due to the psychological and physical pressures of caring for a new baby.

Depression, anxiety, decreased self esteem and a history of previous sexual abuse may dampen a woman’s sex drive. There are many other stressful situations that can cause low libido and this must be addressed as soon as possible for a woman to recover from her stressors as well as return her sexual drive.

These are just some of the ways that can cause low female libido. There may be other causes like issues within a couple’s relationship that has to be resolved first before they can bring back the intimate feeling that they once shared. Conflicts, fights, infidelity and miscommunication can all contribute to low female libido. These issues may only be resolved with the help of an expert relationship or marriage counselor.
